Minnesota Job Skills Partnership (MJSP) announces a grant award of $26,392 to University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Continuing Education in partnership with Peace of Mind, a privately owned health care business. Continuing Education will create a customized, leadership development program that includes building leadership team’s business and risk management knowledge, developing supervisory and performance management skills, preventing and managing stress in a high burnout environment, building cohesion within the leadership team, and promoting the development of a mutual support network within the leadership team. All 70 employees will participate in courses which will include both e-learning and in-person sessions. This project will assist in building a more self-reliant, self-sufficient and resilient management team at Peace of Mind. Development of this project will enhance UMD’s ability for providing education that can be accessed by other organizations.
Peace of Mind, located in Duluth, is a privately owned health care business that offers a home-like environment and care for adults with physical and/or mental disabilities. The company’s 24/7/365 operation currently provides care to 24 clients in six homes with a staff of 70 licensed medical personnel, direct care non-licensed staff, and non-medical business professionals.
